Has Commotio Cordis ever occured in boxing?
Has a boxer ever suffered death from an untimely punch to the chest? Or do gloves prevent such a thing from happening? What about Kyokushin Karate? It seems that a sport like that would have a tremendous risk of Commotio Cordis occurring.
I have never heard of it happening. Usually a death in boxing is caused by repeated blunt force trauma to the head. I’ve never heard of a death in Kyokushin.
